Fuel on the wind the fuel on the fire
Flame by the lamp and the flame by the wire
The wind on your back and the wind on your face
While your mouth (comma) mistook your bread for your face
Head of the ham strung up on the screen
Calling death to the pelvis and death to your spleen
Death to your organs and death to your head
Death to the heart and death to the deadly
So now there’s fuel on the wind there’s fuel on the fire
There’s flame by your lamp there’s flame by your wire
There’s wind on your back and there’s wind on your face while your mouth (comma) mistook your bread for your face
I catapult the taking and the leaving of the air
The person in knots is not leaving of the air
By way of the air by way of the land
By way of the head that hangs from your hand, we
Shake off the clock we shake off the tin
Shake off the shell that shelters the skin
The skin on your face is the skin on your back
The skin on the underside of attack them
The eye on the moon the eye on the sun
The eye on the moon the eye on the sun
Eye
Snake in the grass, egg by the snake,
Tree by the hawk, hawk by the snake,
The man by the hawk the hand on the rug
The tongue in your mouth is the salt by the slug and
The god in the grain is the rain in the sky
The glass in the rock is the gun by your side
The millions a millions a millions in need
The one times one times one with the seeds
They can’t afford the taking and the leaving of the air
The sucking of the sky on the burning of the ground
While the vampire-ship never reaches the shore
And the passengers throw their bodies over board
The eye on the moon the eye on the sun
The eye on the moon the eye on the sun
There’s a knife inside the sack of that sugar
There’s a knife inside the taste that it brings
There’s a knife inside the sack of that Babylon sugar
You’ve got to hear the sound of that sugar
Hear the bell that it rings
Eye I
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
This album is amazing from start to finish! It's got such a cool, poetic, punk rock vibe. Hits the soul, for real. Please come play in Miami, Florida soon! Thank you for your art! richnice1975
